Mountain Heart has cancelled - They will not be coming through Colorado
in May. This was a decision by Mountain Heart. Dave does have a few other
things in the works. The Isaacs and Halden Wofford will still be here in the fall.
He's also working on one or two other things which haven't been announced yet.
For all the details, check back here or go to

See you there.
This summer could be the best ever. Ron Thomason and the Wolkings have outdone themselves again with the bluegrass lineup for High Mountain Hayfever. Laurie Lewis, Dan Paisley, Alicia Nugent, and of course Sons and Brothers, and Dry Branch Fire Squad. If you like fiddles, get there early. Michael Cleveland will be there Thursday night, and Heidi Clare on Friday. The North Fork Valley Bluegrass Festival is always a fun event and a beautiful location. George and Jody are trying something new this year combining the jam camp and festival into one big week. The camp features The Hickory Project and looks like a great week of bluegrass picking and lessons. I can't wait to work with Anthony Hannigan at the camp. The Kruger Brothers will be back from thier European tour in time and will be joining Kane Welch Kaplan, The Hickory Project, and many other bands. If you can't get enough bluegrass that week, you didn't try very hard. Remember the details and contact info for all these events is on the bluegrass events page. The Roots Music Camp in Divide, Colorado has changed thier schedule this year. It will be held June 1-7 this year. Note the change from August. Charlie and Marianne have put together a fantastic list of instructors this year. This is a camp that just keeps getting better and better. Bluegrass, folk, blues, it doesn't matter. Get all the details from thier Colorado Roots Music Webpage. The Rocky Mountain Fiddle and Mandolin Camp near Deckers is August 10th - 17th. I've never been there but I heard it is a good camp. Pagosa Springs, Colorado has 2 bluegrass festivals this year. The Pagosa Folk and Bluegrass Festival June 6th, 7th, 8th and the Four Cornors Folk Festival August 31st - September 2nd. The details and contact info are in the bluegrass events section. And no it's not west slope, but I'll be in Dixon, Missouri for Labor Day for the oldest bluegrass festival west of the Mississippi. |
